Gustavo Rimada
FINE ARTIST
Gustavo was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico. His family migrated to California when he was seven years old, leaving him with a sense of disconnection, as if he had missed out on something. Living in the United States necessitated assimilation, yet as he embraced his artistic journey, including attending the Art Institute in Santa Monica and serving in the Army, he embarked on a quest for self-discovery and a reconnection with his roots.
In 2022, a transformative visit to Mexico City reignited Gustavo’s spirit. He fell in love with everything, from the ancient pyramids of Tenochtitlan to the vibrant streets of El Zocalo. This journey awakened a dormant part of himself, infusing his art with renewed passion and a profound sense of identity. It has further strengthened his dedication to celebrating the beauty and history of his culture through his art.
Through vivid colors, symbolic artifacts, folklore, flowers, and thematic elements, his artwork pays homage to his homeland and a testament to his pride. Now, for over 15 years of pursuing his career, Gustavo is forever grateful and honored to see his artwork loved and admired by so many people all over the world.
